SEP 2012 Submitted by Gordon Wilson It’s cold and dark but thoughts are turning to long Scottish summer days and evenings. By special arrangement for the Olympics, usual arrangements have been suspended and both the Scottish rain and midgies have agreed to suspend their usual activities. Plans for SEP 2012 are underway. Application forms for both staff and campers are available on the SEP website at sepuk.org. SEP takes place on Sunday 22 July – Saturday 4 August with staff arriving on Saturday 21 July. Please apply early. Campers can save £50 if you apply before the end of April. Last year we were oversubscribed for staff applications. But we are in need of volunteers for set-up and particularly for take down. If you have any questions or any ideas about helping to spread the word about this outreach activity please email admin@sepuk.org. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. Meryl Davidson, Edinburgh Church Submitted by Peter Mill Meryl Davidson, beloved wife of George Davidson, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday 26 January at Borders General Hospital. She was admitted to hospital the day before, got progressively worse through the night and was moved to intensive care on Thursday morning. She died around 12 noon. We have no information about the cause of death as yet. Meryl’s death comes almost a year after George, who died on 1 February 2011. Meryl leaves behind her children, Geryl, Darren, Jaren and Verne, their partners, Andi, Fiona, Duncan and Simon, her grandchildren Kelly, Morgan, Ruby, Buster, Robbie and Manor and her great grandson, Dexter. Meryl and George faithfully pastured the Edinburgh church for many years until their retirement. The funeral was held at the Leckie Church, Peebles on Friday 3 February at 11am. The family are understandably shocked and saddened by their loss and your prayers are asked for comfort in their time of grieving. |
