Southampton Celebrations

by Thelma Bourne The 2 June was a very special day for Southampton Church to celebrate the Queens`s Diamond Jubilee. Paul Dickson and Neville Hutchinson gave speeches of their memory of the Queen`s Coronation and the history of the emblems used at the coronation. We had an Interest table which was full of old books that various people had brought in of the Queen`s Coronation from back in 1953. We finished that day by having a buffet meal and gave a toast to the Queen. |
