Sylva Ugorji inNigeria reports below on a combined meeting of three Life Clubs:Port Harcourt,Owerri andMbaise.
‘The combined Life Club meeting was successfully held as planned on 15 October inOwerri. Mr Innocent Obi, a deacon in Owerri Church, was the Chairperson.
The tabletopics session was handled by Mr Victor Ihemekwa, fromPort Harcourt Church. The toastmaster for the day was a graduate of business management also from Port Harcourt Church, Miss Adline Omah.
The best speaker award was won by a final year law student, Mr Udoka Chukwuma, from Owerri Church. He spoke on the issues - smoking, violence, drugs, cultism, social vices - facing our youths and how to handle them.
The best achievement award was given to an accountant, Mr Peter Nwigbo from Owerri Church, while the best contribution award went to Mr Silas Onwuamadike also from Owerri Church. During the 1st half evaluation I read and used 1 Timothy 4:12 to exhort and encourage all for greater motivation toward the Club.
Other directors, Messrs Nova Igbineweka, from Port Harcourt, Augustine Kanu fromMbaise, and Frank Chimezie the host director, contributed immensely during the evaluation. In his own overall evaluation and talks, the Managing Director, Mr Essien George, the Chairman EC WCG/GCI Nigeria, expressed delight at the remarkable improvement and development in every facet of the Club evident in this year's combined Club meeting over the previous years. He urged members to read the manual and adhere to its instructions in order to meet the requirements for graduation at a reasonable record time. He reminded members of the benefits and importance of the Club.
The meeting was concluded with a luncheon.’
Paignton Festival Life Club

Over 100 people came to thePaignton Life Club on 16 October. Keith Stevenson gave a speech about rainbows. This is one of the pictures he used. He said ‘our pot of gold is the Bible’.

Rebecca Woolford gave a speech about her ‘experience of a lifetime’ at the Summer School in Estonia and Rolfe Jones was awarded the best speaker cup by the Chairperson Amy Townson for his speech entitled ‘Achieving Real Success’. Two success keys he mentioned were the importance of family and education. He also said we should ‘dress for success’.
Michael Gibbs won the best achievement cup in Paignton for winning a gold medal in his latest Judo competition.
Cameroon Club
The first Life Club in theCameroon was held at by the Jonas Prayer Centre inBertoua on 27 November. The Club was directed and advertised on the local radio station by Pastor Pouhe Georges. The planned hall was too small, so the Club was held on the canopy outside. The meeting lasted three hours.
