 The third Life Activity Weekend at Well End took place the 19th – 21st February. In Tabletopics Jonathan Carion asked: ‘What one thing would we change in the world? Answers included a ‘sound education system’, the ‘restoration of dignity’, a ‘better moral compass’, ‘more opportunities to develop spiritually’ and ‘recapture true values’. Sinead Henderson (a nurse) won the best speaker cup by encouraging perseverance when nursing others. Fraser Murdoch gave the acronym CRAFT to help remember how to prepare a good speech. ‘Collect and Categorise’, ‘Research and Reflect’, ‘Apply and Arrange’, ‘Fashion and Flavour’ and ‘Trim back and Tie it all Together’.  

The first London Life Club took place on the 27th February. John Forster opened the Club with Colossians 4:6 ‘Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.’ Sophie Turfus gave a speech about finding parts of the Genesis story in some pictographic Chinese letters. After suffering a fire in her own home Annabelle Woolford gave a talk entitled: ‘How not to burn your home down’. Antoine Lightbourne (who won the best speaker cup) spoke about achieving goals and Comet Chukwurah spoke about fashion. Sophie Turfus won the best achievement cup for recently gaining a Ph D. in Forensic Science. 
This picture is of the Club held before the Church service on the 20th March in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Maaike Mantel explained what her job (social worker) involved and how God plays a big part in her life. The other two speakers were David Otten and Koos Kemna. The next Club will be on the 15th May. On the 29th May starting at 1pm there will be a Young Adults Service in Great Baddow followed by a picnic (weather permitting). The worship leader will be Seb Woolford, announcements by Jonathan Luxton, sermonette by James Esom, special music by Jenn Thompson and the sermon by Len Maylin which will be aimed at young people. Those attending are requested to bring along picnic food and chairs/blankets. For more information email sebwoolford@gmail.com. The first Scotland-wide Life Activity Weekend takes place from 4th – 6th June. Held at the beautiful Lendrick Muir activity centre near Kinross, the weekend will feature a host of indoor and outdoor activities, including trail biking, ropes courses, archery, disc golf, tennis, basketball, five-a-side football, badminton, beach volleyball, fussball, table tennis, pool, lively worship services, a Life Club and a ceilidh. All activities and meals are included within the price of the weekend, unbeatable value at just £40 per person. There are still places left, so please get your applications in pronto! The next Life Club hosted by the Leeds/Bradford congregation will be on the 12th June. It is planned the Chairperson will be Nathaniel Melman, the Topicsleader Ayelet Melman and the speakers Matt Hudson, Helen Melman, Tracy Hanley and Theresa O'Keefe (all to be confirmed). It is planned the speakers will be David Brace, James Esom and Marcus Mac. Worship will be led by Tim and Kath Sole and the lunch coordinated by John and Jess Forster. Ricky Fowler is organising the choir, if you would like to take part in the choir please contact Ricky. All welcome to Geoff and Jean Sole’s late afternoon for a barbeque and croquet (weather permitting). The last meeting of Life Club’s seventh year is planned for the 3rd July, at Abbey Primary School, St Albans, AL1 1DQ. Please arrive about 6.00. A meal will be available (cost £3.00).
