Ladies Fellowship Day
Nine ladies from the South West of England got together at Wadia Habashi’s home for our 2nd “Ladies Fellowship Day”. The theme “Love the Lord God with all our hearts…”Matt 22:37. We all had a bag of goodies (not food) to put us in the mood of being loved. We had lots of worship music and we raised our voices to God in thanksgiving. We had scripture readings, between the music and four ladies spoke. Everyone there did something.
Joan Millman and Bernice Watson gave icebreakers so we got to know a little more about their lives and what happened to them. Eileen Fowler gave a talk on ‘herbs’ and their healing powers also about fruits and nuts why they are good to eat. She gave a good tip - if you mash garlic and water together and put round your plants the slugs leave them alone. We’ll be trying that next year in our garden. Sandra Moore spoke last about appreciating what God has given to us such as colours, smell, and touch, what it would be like if everything was grey. Grey trees, flowers, grass, sky etc. No more blondes, brunettes, or redheads! It doesn’t bear thinking about as grey isn’t my colour to wear. We had lunch provided by Wadia which was excellent and we all sat around the table and talked. The whole day was great, God provided a beautiful day, and as the sun set, the sky was aglow with colour. It was an absolutely fabulous ending. As we got ready to leave there was just one question on our minds, “When is the next Ladies Day?” Joy Barlow |
